I'm Eva !
I'm an advocate for women and girls
dedicated to creating a culture of
support, self-acceptance & speaking out!
Dear friends and colleagues,
Thank you. I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of support in response to the NYTimes piece about my decision to come forward in the upcoming Singeli Agnew Documentary..
I'm grateful for every single woman who has made the life-altering decision to come forward and share her story. It's through their collective courage, I was finally able to share my own.
I look forward to moving on from this and continuing the work I've done for almost a decade advocating for women and girls globally and encouraging women everywhere to find -- and use -- their voices.
My story is not exceptional. One in three women is subjected to physical or sexual violence in her lifetime. Seventy percent of women in the restaurant industry report being sexually harassed.
For far too long, women around the world have been forced to silently harbor deep feelings of crippling guilt, shame and responsibility for acts of sexual misconduct perpetrated against them by men in positions of power -- acts they did not welcome or deserve. It is time for that burden to be lifted from these women, to be assumed instead by those responsible in the form of direct accountability.
Let them do the explaining for once.
By speaking out and supporting those who do, we can become agents of change and improve the culture one story at a time,
If you or someone you know needs support, please contact the National Sexual Assault Helpline at 1-800-656-4673.
With deepest gratitude,
